In their most recent fundraising effort, they raised £1350 the the Society of Our Lady of Lourdes — an organisation that enables and encourages pilgrims, mainly from England, to visit Lourdes, minimising barriers of cost and disability.
A coronavirus fund grant will help a popular Salisbury singing group for people with lung conditions to keep meeting online. Music For Wellbeing has been awarded £4,900 from the Wiltshire Community Foundation’s Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund to continue its Sing and Breathe Wiltshire sessions. The fund has raised more than £1.1 million and distributed £925,000 through 200 grants to groups tackling the fallout from pandemic.
Community nurses at Dorothy House Hospice are being helped to cope with an increase in referrals during the pandemic with a coronavirus fund grant. The hospice has been awarded £10,000 for its community nurse service from the Wiltshire Community Foundation’s Coronavirus Response Fund. Earlier this year the hospice received £7,000 from the fund for its hospice at home service.
Vicky Hickey and Fiona Oliver have been appointed as joint chief executives of the Wiltshire Community Foundation. Vicky Hickey has been a member of the community foundation team for seven years, three of them as finance and operations director. Fiona Oliver has been director of development and marketing there for three years.
From today (1st September) the Wiltshire Music Centre is reopening its doors and bringing live music back to Wiltshire. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, renowned live music venue Wiltshire Music Centre has lain dormant for over six months. On 18th March, all events and activities at the Centre were suspended until further notice and the enormous financial challenge that this brought about threatened their very return.
