'Wonder' is a moving bronze sculpture created by Wiltshire based artist and inventor Tom Lawton, available to view from 5 March to 3 April 2022.

“Wonder is a meditative moving sculpture that aims to show how everything is interconnected." - Tom Lawton, artist.

Tom Lawton is an inventor from the historic town of Malmesbury, North Wiltshire, where he lives with his young family, striving to bring uplifting and long-lasting solutions to some of the world's problems. At Avebury, where the monuments embody the wisdom and endeavour of people who came before us, the presence of ‘Wonder’ helps to inspire, as Avebury has inspired people for thousands of years. Wonder’s mesmerising cycles can be seen to reflect the eternal cycles of life, echoing Avebury, the stone circles, and its exceptional story through time – connecting the past with the present and with hope for the future. Comprising a single self-supporting, ribbon-like structure made from precious metal, which appears to flow like water as it spirals both upwards and down, expanding outwards and contracting in.

'Wonder' can be seen from 5 March to 3 April 2022 10am to 4pm at the Great Barn at Avebury. It is free of charge and there is no need to book. Call 01672 538011 for details nationaltrust.org.uk/avebury
