British Breeding, the organisation representing breeders of British Sport Horses, have chosen local venue, Grittleton House in Wiltshire, as the venue for their inaugural celebration ball. The black-tie event on Saturday 9th November will recognise the achievements of top-scoring participants in the 2019 British Breeding Baileys Horse Feeds Futurity series, which took place between July and September. Awards will be presented by Baileys to the top scoring foal, yearling, two-year-old and three-year-old within the dressage, endurance, eventing and showjumping discipline categories from the entire series.

Top-performing British-bred young horses who have already begun their ridden careers will also be included, with their successes recognised throughout the evening. The event is supported by British Dressage, British Eventing and British Showjumping.

“We are looking forward to this new event, which will bring together British breeding and the sport in a joined celebration of the 2019 season” says CEO of British Showjumping Iain Graham. “Our breeding industry is hugely important in providing the equine stars of the future and this is an opportunity to recognise their achievements”.

To be held at Grittleton House, Wiltshire, the venue offers unique experiences of both an intimate and characterful setting, ideal for entertaining. Features include a large ballroom and an impressive orangery overlooking the Italian sunken gardens, providing guests with an elegant space in which to let their hair down and celebrate a successful season. The venue also offers four Master Bedrooms recently restored to their former glory and located within the house and guests have the opportunity to make their stay extra special by placing a successful bid for one of these rooms for the night of the Ball.

This black-tie event will ensure an evening of enjoyment, ideal for bringing together British breeders from across the country. A three-course dinner, live music, dancing, fundraising auction of unique and high-end items, plus various entertainment acts throughout, will deliver a fun-filled event for all guests.

British Breeding Director Rachael Holdsworth explains, “We are very excited about this event, which will provide an uplifting finish to the breeding season, as well as giving us the opportunity to recognise the many wonderful achievements of British breeders.”

Located close to Bath and Bristol, with direct train links to London and beyond, and within 5 minutes’ drive from the M4, Grittleton House boasts excellent transport links for those coming further afield. There are a wide range of options for an overnight stay, suitable for all budgets, some of which are within walking distance of the venue.
