Kim Barrett, a resident at Barchester Healthcare's White Lodge in Swindon had always wanted to go back and see his favourite football team, Swindon Town FC, and so staff at the home made his wish a reality.

Kim Barrett has lived at at White Lodge for 2 years and is beloved by staff and residents alike. Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making his dream come true, because they knew how much it meant to him, and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on Kim’s face.

Staff first found out about Kim’s dream several months ago and, ever since then, they have been dedicated to helping him achieve it. Kim Barrett was also accompanied by Tina Hughes, activity co-ordinator at White Lodge and carer Chloe Anderson who were there in support of this momentous occasion.

In response to this wonderful surprise, Kim, said: “It has made my year to meet two of my favourite players, Don Rogers and John Trollope, it was fantastic.”

Jessa Avila, general manager at the home, said: “We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at White Lodge. It was so nice to see how happy Kim was – and the staff loved being a part of this as well.”
