Get ready for a thought provoking and fun evening of recycled fashion, with a film and panel discussion about sustainability issues.

Re:fashion my town is back with a community event on 4th April. The evening starts at 7pm with a screening of The True Cost, a ground breaking documentary film that pulls back the curtain on the untold story of fashion and asks us to consider who really pays the price for our clothing.

Filmed in countries all over the world, from the brightest runways to the darkest slums, and featuring interviews with the world’s leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth and Vandana Shiva, The True Cost is an unprecedented project that invites us on an eye opening journey around the world and into the lives of the many people and places behind our clothes.

After the screening, guests are invited to an inspiring re-fashion show, where Re:Fashion my Town will showcase the work of talented local designers and makers, supported by the local community. You’ll see Wiltshire College students as hair and makeup stylists, outfits from Bath College, volunteers from Zero Chippenham and XR Chippenham has supplied props.

The evening will end with an informal panel discussion, compered by Ollie Phipps – Chippenham’s community and engagement manager – and involving local change makers including Jen Gale, author and founder of Sustainable(lish) and Chloe Haywood, a celebrated sustainable designer and maker.

This event is brought to you by Re:fashion my Town, a community project based in Chippenham, on a mission to help reduce the amount of textile waste going to our landfills.

“We have the ability to be a part of the kind of world we want to have or to be part of the destruction that we say we’re against.” Andrew Morgan

The event will take place on 4th April 2020 at 7pm in Neeld Community and Arts Centre, Chippenham
