Vicky Hickey and Fiona Oliver have been appointed as joint chief executives of the Wiltshire Community Foundation. Vicky Hickey has been a member of the community foundation team for seven years, three of them as finance and operations director. Fiona Oliver has been director of development and marketing there for three years.

They stepped in as interim joint chief executives in April after Rosemary Macdonald left to take up the role of chief executive at UK Community Foundations.

Chairman of trustees Ashley Truluck CB CBE said: “Vicky and Fiona stepped up in a very challenging period for the community foundation and its staff as it responded to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The fact that we have raised more than £1.1 million and distributed £850,000 so far to support more than 200 groups across Wiltshire and Swindon is a testament to their leadership and the hard work of the staff. This appointment recognises the level of confidence that the trustees have in that leadership and the teamwork they have inspired.”

Vicky and Fiona said: “We are honoured and excited to be chosen to follow in Rosemary’s footsteps in leading this excellent team. We look forward to working with the trustees and all of the wonderful supporters, donors, partners and groups across the county.

“The last six months have been a huge challenge for the voluntary sector and there is plenty of hard work ahead as we strive to support and encourage the incredible work undertaken by so many amazing groups to make life better for every community in Wiltshire and Swindon.”
