Many people know that music is a ‘good thing’. Research proves again and again that it is so important to children and young people’s lives and futures. Why? Because music education increases confidence and self-esteem, improves cognition, literacy and numeracy, provides important life and social skills and many more.

"Most children in English schools learn to play an instrument through privately funded lessons in school hours. However, not every family can manage the cost of their children’s musical potential. As the music education hub for Wiltshire we’ve previously supported over 650 pupils with tuition costs. As recognition of music’s power for young people grows, so does demand for support.”

Music Connect CIC is fundraising with Wiltshire Music Connect, the music education hub for Wiltshire, to support additional demand for high quality music tuition. The goal is to reach a minimum of £8000 by 2ndDec in order to secure support for 25 pupils, initially in three different Trowbridge schools. These schools are The Mead, Castle Mead and Paxcroft – all are engaging more pupils whose circumstances mean they might otherwise not have the opportunity.

“We’re thrilled that so many people can see the value of supporting children and music in this way. Wiltshire Music Connect has been developing the idea of a musical community in Wiltshire and this a great step forwards.”
