Managing editor Claire Waring has been based in Wiltshire for 23 years and lives in Hilperton on the outskirts of Trowbridge. She began her editorial career working on the University of Bristol's in-house newspaper and glossy graduate magazine, Nonesuch. She worked for Newsquest's city newspapers in Oxford and its regional titles in the area before focusing on TV writing for a features agency in Bristol. She has worked on a number of regional newspaper titles, including the Gazette and Herald, based in Devizes, and was a feature writer in Devon before returning to her beloved Wiltshire to work on the Wiltshire Times, based in Trowbridge, editing a number of its magazines and supplements. These included The Bathonian, a lifestyle magazine for the people of Bath, tourist guides for Bath and Wiltshire and The Country Times. Claire has been managing editor of Wiltshire Life for two and a half years and relishes the challenges that the job provides. She says she enjoys the job because she gets to meet so many interesting people and because the magazine, with its long history, has such strong support within the county.
After graduating from university Claire White joined A&D Media as company receptionist and subscriptions assistant. With an ambition to write, she soon started providing features for Wiltshire Life and within six months Claire was a permanent member of the editorial team as editorial assistant for both Wiltshire Life and Country magazine.
During her time with the company Claire has worked across many of the group's publications and is currently editor of Facilities-UK and Hospital Direct as well as providing editorial support on Wiltshire Life as production editor.
The publisher and editor of Wiltshire Life is Mark Allen, an experienced journalist, editor and publisher. As a Wiltshire resident, he has a special interest in the county and established a second office for his group of companies in Dinton, near Salisbury in 1994 creating employment for up to fifty local staff.
Mr Allen is the previous winner of the Periodical Publishers Association Editor of the Year accolade when the journal he then edited won, in the same year, the Magazine of the Year and the Campaign of the Year. His company publishes a range of business, medical and educational journals.
Sales manager Jane Kennedy has been with A&D media since 2005. She was keen on a change of direction in her career and after 18 years in both sales & marketing in the world of financial services she choose to move into the world of publishing. Jane has worked across a range of titles in the group, including Wiltshire Life, Carriage Driving and Recycling & Waste World.
In her spare time, Jane is very busy looking after her young son and supporting him in all his sporting endeavours, as well as being actively involved in village life and a member of the school PTA.
Carolyn completed an HND in Graphic Design before joining A&D Media Ltd 5 years ago. During that time, Carolyn has worked across many of our publications, and is now responsible for the layout of Wiltshire Life, as well as Recycling and Waste World, a weekly magazine.
Laura graduated with a degree in Furniture and Product Design in 2006 from the Nottingham Trent University.
Following a trip to Kenya where she helped build houses and springs, and ran orphan groups, Laura joined the production team at A&D Media in 2007.
Since joining the group, Laura has worked across a number of titles including Hampshire, the County Magazine; The Tele-directories, Wiltshire Life magazine and Pro-Shop Europe.
