Know Your Place is a digital mapping project that is setting out to locate Wiltshire heritage – and it’s asking for volunteers. Volunteers will help locate, record and photograph public art in Wiltshire. Very little is known about the whereabouts, extent and condition of public art in the county.

The data that is collected will be available in the local studies library at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, with images deposited in the historic photograph and print collection. The images will also be pinned to the Know Your Place site http://www.kypwest.org.uk to map their location.

Volunteer workshops are being run across the county. These include:

  • Bradford on Avon Library, Thursday July 6, 6pm-7pm
  • Calne Library, Tuesday July 11, 6pm-7pm
  • Marlborough Library, Thursday July 20, 6pm-7pm
  • Malmesbury Library, Monday August 14, 6pm-7pm
  • Corsham Library, Monday August 21, 6pm-7pm

Book a place via Eventbrite

Events are also planned in Corsham, Salisbury and Swindon in August, and in Devizes and Warminster. For updates visit https://creativewiltshire.com/get-involved/

Volunteers can decide how much or how little time they want to devote to the project up until December.
